Jet/Needle setting For 2HP Hi Torque Puch

Matt Scout The Scouting Dcon /

Hey All,

Did a search on this, couldn't find anything readily. I am working on getting my Puch to running condition as is, stock. 2 HP, High torque head. I'm not sure what size carb is on it, I'm assuming it is what came stock with my set up (12 mm?). Once running, I would like to switch over to a Techno Estoril pipe. What needle setting and jet should I shoot for to start? I know the old mantra, "jet it rich", but I want a ballpark to start with. Thanks in advance!

I'd try my big jets first, and if it four-strokes with that and the needle on the leanest notch, go to the next size jet down. When you think you're getting close, move your clip from the richest notch of the needle until it quits four-stroking.

Sorry, I forgot that you were asking about jet size too, not just needle setting. I have no idea what size jet to start with.

64, #2 notch for top, standard 14mm, standard airfilter.

Fine tuned will get you 34-35mph.

Thanks all, I'll hit up 1977 Tuesday. They didn't have jets on Friday, hopefully they got them in.
