tires rubbing

so i bought these tires off ebay, size 2.25X17 and the front one is rubbing on the fender of my maxi, do i need to do some trimming to the fender? id take the fender off but it is part of that support that connects the shocks, what have any of you do about this?

Re: tires rubbing

Re: tires rubbing

I'd say bend the fender slightly, its not like 2.25 is a very wide tire.

Re: tires rubbing

What size were the tires that were on the bike originally?

Re: tires rubbing

2.25 is SKINNY!

the only way 2.25 will rub on a puch is when the wheel is not straight, make sure both sides are even

Re: tires rubbing

they are even, i think these tires are taller if you get what i mean, they seem to go deeper into the fender, i think im gonna cut off the back part of the fender where its rubbing most and see if i can move the rest of it up alittle, is there any reason why i shouldn't do this?

Re: tires rubbing

some tires are much taller than others .

i had to move my fender up to fit 17-2.50

i think maybe your shocks are worn

Re: tires rubbing

Some puchs take 2.00 tires dont cut the fender.

Re: tires rubbing

John Joedicke /

Longer shocks will cure it.
