Correct kit for my Bravo? [pics]

Brian Smithmeyer /

This is a 1977 Vespa Bravo with a 43mm kit that uses a 12mm pin. I just want to make sure I have the right kit and see if there is anything else I should do before I finish the install.

Here is the bottom of the new kit:

The gasket matches that, but it doesn't match the top of the engine....and that means the kit won't match the engine either. Is that right? Do I need a different kit? Should I just trim the gasket to match the opening?:

Maybe its a dumb question, but is your base gasket on upside down? Looks like it might be a good idea to split the case and match those transfers too.

I found out that most kits are like this and you can either port match the top of the engine to the gasket or just leave it alone. The gasket is not upside down.

Ottawa is about 90 miles SW of Chicago.
