HPI or Power Dynamo on za50

Will either of those aforementioned ignition systems work on a ZA50? I was cruising along on my 2speed when the flywheel came loose causing the woodruff key to shear off part off its little hole it sits in...So, I'm looking for an ignition setup that does not require a woodruff key.

Re: HPI or Power Dynamo on za50

thats a good question. i would post on puchforum.net to ask that though. very few peoeple have HPI experience in the US.

Re: HPI or Power Dynamo on za50

I know the HPI will work on a 2 speed.

Re: HPI or Power Dynamo on za50

really?

even though the 2 speed has opposite rotation?

Re: HPI or Power Dynamo on za50

Yes....does it really? If this is true that would be fantastic.

I supply this HPI racing ignition.

264.60 dollars.

Re: HPI or Power Dynamo on za50

Those ignitions just need a trigger and the trigger doesn't care about the rotation of the crank it just triggers the CDI to discharge into the ignition coil. Essentially the trigger generates a positive or negative pulse.

Re: HPI or Power Dynamo on za50

Anybody out there who has one, want to verify this on a ZA50?

Re: HPI or Power Dynamo on za50

yes it does work on a two speed. I own it. it can be set to any position on the crank there is no key slot. for left or right rotating motors, see instructions.

Can you post a pic of your set up, meaning your ignition with the cover off I have been having a hard time getting the timing right.
