Get a dellorto. Buy it from a moped shop. I'm not sure what size will work well on a 103.

I just put a 14.12 on a peugeot 102 yesterday. I used a square cut from the plastic top to a planter's peanut tin as the plastic gasket where the carb connects to the intake because the stock one was too small, and it was too big to fit without anything.

and make sure to use some gasket sealer on the intake and carb. Sorry for the multiple posts, I just keep remembering more info that may be important to you

I DO NOT KNOW OF ANY GASKET SEALER THAT HOLDS UP WHEN USED IN FUEL SITUATIONS. WHAT TYPE DID YOU USE FOR THE CARB TO INTAKE?

If you buy one of the plastic spacers that are made for dellorto carbs, I don't think you need any sealant at all.

yeah in all seriousness i think you can use a dellorto 14:12 on it. anything else requires a different intake to provide more clearance for the carb. (it gets in the way of the swing arm or when the motor variates...im not sure.) i'd also get the cable choke version of that and go ahead and replace both the throttle and choke cables. maitland did this and used a 68 jet and said it worked good.

What i'm planning now is to buy a 15.15 dellorto and a 12mm pollini intake along with a pollini reed / cage kit.

Someone told me to buy a 15mm intake but the guy i spoke to at Moped cafe didnt tell me it was available, Is it?

Truth is i haven't found anyone who could recommend a compleat set up. Carb, intake, reed setup and jet size.

I'm putting this all on a stock low mileage 1980' peugeot 103 with the plan of using the stock muffler and possibly down the road installing a big bore kit, maybe 65cc but never changing the muffler . It only has 1200 miles on it and sat for a long time with a bad gurtner,,,,,,were they ever good? No i didnt think so.

My hopes are to make this ped do 45mph on flat ground and not die on hills. I dont want to go to crazy with it as i know how these peds would shake every part off if you went too fast. When i was 16 i had a 80' or 81' tsm that went 63mph, varifide by a new car with a digital dash. I didnt build it i bought it that way so i dont remember what had been done to it,,,it was 16yrs ago. I think it had a 65cc kit and a dellorto but not sure which one and the stock muffler. No idea what rear sprocket it had, must have been small though cause it took a while to get up to that speed

jet size 95.

i have a polini 70 on my 103.

talk to treatshq, he'll take care of you, he used to have a water cooled 103 or so he says, :P
