Is there a write-up anywhere on this?
I just got mine with 90 degree long intake and a 60 jet... I don't want to make any mistakes, so any advice / instruction would be GREAT! Thanks again

Check out the motobecane wiki page.
its right in the wiki. there's really nothing to it. if you have the shorty intake its easier. if not, you just have to tilt the carb accordingly as not to scrape the frame when it... "variates". you should have gotten a few jets. BUT, i'm running a 60 right now with a metal screen-window mesh and the results are real good. I could probably go a little leaner, but i havent tried yet. if you're all stock then that should be pretty happy for you.
How to you remove the cable coming out of the top of the Gurtner carb? I am obviously retarded..
which cable? The whole top plate (that the choke and throttle cables go through) comes off with just one flathead screw.
I can't get it to come off.. I'm about to take a picture to show you whats up..
Got em off, but I had to pull out the entire choke cable to do so... Hope that was right! Now, how to put the cables back into the new one!
You might need new cables. Dellorto slide uses a small nipple on the end of the throttle cable, and either a nipple or really small pinch bolt for the choke.
Yep-- I just figured out I need a new throttle cable, and more than likely a new choke as well.. I'm going to make a photo write-up for the idiots like myself because there isn't a really definitive one up yet!
you should be able to trim the end of the cable down to fit into the dellorto slide.
It's actually too short... Am I doing something wrong?
You forgot a last, vital step.
Sell me your Gurtner black plastic airbox!
:-) Please..?
there is a plenty definitive one on the wiki. it says everything you need.
My only problem with it is the lack of step-by-step pictures. I'm more a visual kinda guy, and images of each step really help me in the process of working on the engine, etc.
No offense meant, but I'll hopefully finish up the photo write-up in the next day or so!
yea, i visual is nice. the way i think of it is...
1. Take old crusty gurtner off.
2. Put new dellorto on.
