Re: where in SF for case weld

Weiss Welding on Folsom. Live the orange magnum!!!

Re: where in SF for case weld

epoxy works good for that

Re: where in SF for case weld

Weiss will take care of you. and you need a tig or mig welder to fill that.

Re: where in SF for case weld

Just be careful since they neet to weld right next to the mating surface of the kit and the case you might need to grind/sand down a high spot to make the case square again.

Re: where in SF for case weld

i've spent ___ hours on this anyways, this shit better rock! we should meet up today for the jets. is there anyone else with the 80 here?

Re: where in SF for case weld

Brandon I used JB weld on mine and it works fine. I got a piece of flat clear plastic and mounted it to the case opening using the studs then backfilled the JB weld so I could see how much to put in there. After it dries use a dremel to clean up the edges and your ready to rock. See the picture. I put the JB on before the porting.

Re: where in SF for case weld

They need either a MIG or a TIG weld, a place that does aluminum fabrication, like aluminum boats, can fix it for you.

Re: where in SF for case weld

Looks great, Looks like it'll be a monster.

Re: where in SF for case weld

thats two posts where peeps said MIG weld would work, but they are DEAD WRONG.

TIG is the only way. good work.

Re: where in SF for case weld

TIG confirmed!!!!!!

Re: where in SF for case weld

you can do it with a DC wire feed, if you have argon and it helps to have a spool gun. tig gives much better control though, which is critical for crazy shaped cast parts.

Re: where in SF for case weld

You need the right gas to use a MIG on aluminum, and the right wire of course.
