Techno Estoril for Puch

So far, I've tried the pipe on 2 different bikes, one 70cc reedvalve athena, and one stock hi torque cylinder bike. Both setups were disappointing. Significantly less power on the 70cc bike than it had with a Proma Circuit, and about the same power, less top speed (started 4 stroking like it was more restrictive) than STOCK exhaust on the stock hi torque cylinder!

What's everyone else's opinion on this pipe? Anybody with a Proma Circuit want to trade? :)

Re: Techno Estoril for Puch

different pipes will need different jetting or did you already do all that with the accompanying test runs

Re: Techno Estoril for Puch

the estoril is one of the better pipes made, significantly better than the proma circuit i would say,

Techno Estoril for Puch

I love that pipe. It KILLS on stock cylinders, and just plain owns on Polinis. Jet it properly, it'll take care of you.

I will second the fact that it is the shilznit on a polini. 51mph with killer midrange on my last setup with that pipe. I love it minus the necessary pedal mods.

Re: Techno Estoril for Puch

No I didn't re-jet either one. The stock bike seems to be running better now that it's cooler out. Now that I think about it, the 70cc bike was showing signs of running lean, which makes sense (if it is a better pipe than the proma, it would be pushing more air through). I have a polini kit that I plan on using with it eventually on a different bike, so hopefully that works out.

in addition to jetting, you may have to play with the needle position on the carb. Bings are pretty basic, so if that's what you've got then its a fairly easy tune (with less than optimal performance throughout the rev range) With a bing I prefer to load up a bit in the low-end to compensate for the high flow of the upper rpm's. Thats for a more radical tune though, so I don't know what you're runnin but best of luck with it.
