Zach (with some help from Nate) installed a 70cc polini kit on my chappy. Coupled with the fact that I took the tiny wheels off and put moped sized ones on and that the bike in new condition could go 30mph even with restrictive exhaust and previous tiny wheels. 14 in the back 16 in the front. Performance exhaust and case matching soon to come. I'm gonna have the only fast chappy in moped army. Probably the only chappy. Because like me, chappys don't have much luck in the love department.

This picture is old. But since I took it. It's gotten a kit installed went from 10 inch tire to 14 in the back. Removed the tail light. Added some custom yamaha decals to the sides of the "tank". I also have the tightest brakes ever. I can skid stop with just the back tire. Still no front brakes.

I'm working on my chappy. I currently have it torn down, but I am planning on doing 70cc polini, 20mm delorto, ninja exhaust, and maybe some 10" tires (woot, 2" bigger!). I've heard this setup when tuned can easily do 50+. There are a bunch of them in france. Mine will be a noped when done.

You should put 14s on your bike and put a bigger sprocket in the back. I got a 14 inch dirt bike tire and with the addition of two sockets it sat perfectly in the middle of the stock swingarm. You can fit a 14 easily and a 15 is slightly pushing it but could work. And the porting on that polini kit is amazing.
I'm still probably the only moped army "member" with a souped up chappy.

Yea, I just finished porting my chappy, but I have a cracked ring so I need to order a new one.
The exhaust will come from 50cc.nl, they have a doppler and a ninja. I prefer the ninja
mopshop.de has a ton of parts.
I am just messing with the stock motor right now and just got everything back together. I had to pull apart the transmission and replace the kick start shaft.
As far as tires, I am going to stick with the 8s initially and eventually step up to 10s from a CT70. I actually kind of like the look of the small front wheels, and I just got new 8' wheels so I am kind of stuck with them for now. Besides, I can handle the trails very well.

Mine is primarily a street vehicle. I don't take it on trails as it now has regular sized tires. Me and the gang are gonna port the chappy over the winter after everything else is settled. What kind of oil do you use on your transmission?

Good question on the oil. My friend changed it just before I picked it up and I have the tranny drained now, so I was wondering the same thing myself.
Have you seen those polini "boost bottles"? I saw them on mopshop.de and wasn't really sure their exact function. They claim better low-end power, but how exactly does that work? Anyone out there know?

well i might happen to have a messed up transmission because i was shift way too late on atf so I use 40w oil now and thinking of moving up to 50w. But start out with 30w and don't use 10w30 ok?

i love my chappy!!!!!!! its a 1978 80cc, i hit 50 no prob, it has no mods yet, but i plan on doin somthing in the near future. as of now i just gotta get my damn lights working,,,

(whoops, i used 10w30) .. mine has transmission problems too, low-end and hill-climbing sucks.. sort of the reverse problem? i kinda suspect the first clutch is just shot, but havent checked yet... would using the wrong weight of oil cause that sort of problem? eventually hits a solid 30mph on flats, so i figure the second clutch is ok.

you need a way heavier oil. and you need to throttle all the way up and then drop the throttle slightly to like 9/10s or 4/5s.

so sweeet. They are pretty slow stock, but the polini really wakes them up and you can go nearly 50.
