how hard is it to put a magnum swingarm on a maxi?
how would i go about doing it?
what are the problems i might run into?
i have grimeca snowflake mags, will they work?
do i have to drop the engine?
why is the sky blue?
It's not hard to put on at all.
It bolts on the same way.
But a few things that are a pain:
Wide tires will rub the fender both at the back and on top.
Running longer Magnum or other types of rear shocks fixes this problem.
The chain tensioners are different then the Maxi so you will need to get a set of Magnum ones as well.
Other then that is a sweet set up.

Yes to dropping the Block.
you can Reuse the same Front swing arm plate and hardware too,
Other issue is the Magnum axle loading mount is a "rear forward" loading as opposed to a "down up" loading of the wheel so If yo have a Stock Rear tail The Wheel is kinda a bitch to install.
Tail Chops make wheel install much easer and give clearance of tail tire rubs.

i'm trying this on my pinto. so am i going to be all set if i just use the magnum swingarm, magnum shocks, and magnum tensioner? and will they simply bolt up? would this setup take 2.75" tires?
Yes, they all simply bolt up, swingarm and forks
it works ok, but like mentioned above, taking the wheel off is impossible unless you chop the rear fender off.
All you jerks best stop stealing swingarms off magnums. maxis are lame havent you heard?

I just put a Murray swingarm on my maxi. (same length as freespirit/magnum swingarm)
It rubbed at the top and back of the fender as stated above, but I rolled the fender some (street car trick) and filed the dropouts/brake plate so I could move the wheel forward some. I can now fit a 2.5" tire easily. 2.75" would require extensive fender chopping, but the new swingarm is big enough for it.
To take the tire off, I just unbolt the top shock bolt and pick the bike up some. The swingarm drops down and the wheel easily removes.
