Vespa Simonini - 16 HORSES! FROM FEAR! you read!

Anyone interested in a 100cc kit for their Vespa? Think 60 mph.

Carb, case, crank, cylinder kit, and pipe, all assembled.

650.01 Euros plus 100 Euros for five-day shipping. Ends in 12 hours, so impulse buy away!

These kits are rediculously fast. They have so much power you have to run them on single speed clutches, for the vespa variable speed clutch will explode under the stress.

16 Horses, 13 KRPM, that is a real monster. A couple of guys lost their drivers license here in the NL while running one of these :-P.

That was "just" the 12 Horsepower version, which has recently been upgraded by Simonini.

do these hook up to a grande?

Re: Vespa Simonini - 16 HORSES! FROM FEAR! you rea

Yes, to all Vespa's. (not the scooters off course)

Re: Vespa Simonini - 16 HORSES! FROM FEAR! you rea

From what I understand, you can bolt them into any vespa moped, but you should run a ciao single speed pulley.

Re: Vespa Simonini - 16 HORSES! FROM FEAR! you rea

Just when I thought I was done upgrading.....

How much are they in American Dollars? I'd love to ride my moped on the Highway!

Re: Vespa Simonini - 16 HORSES! FROM FEAR! you rea

It would be about $925 shipped.

Re: Vespa Simonini - 16 HORSES! FROM FEAR! you rea

at that point why not just some other 100 cc engine and tranny, then you'd get a transmission and clutch too. Seems kinda silly to me.

I emailed him. He said he would ship to the American States in which we live.

Re: Vespa Simonini - 16 HORSES! FROM FEAR! you rea

there is a 100cc kit with a 20+ carb on it in AZ. The tom cruisers put it on a vespa si. They had a 200+ guy and his gf on the back and still smoked everyone there. its not even like a moped its a fucking motorcycle with pedals.

Re: Vespa Simonini - 16 HORSES! FROM FEAR! you rea

That would be Jeb's bike. Yes it is fast.

Re: Vespa Simonini - 16 HORSES! FROM FEAR! you rea

Do these have the electronic ignition without points?

Bret are you sure ? When I last checked on the 12hp version it was $1000 plus shipping

Chris Stephens

One of the guys who races with Moped Racing Assoc. (Chris Stephens) has this system. It is hella powerful, he's reported being paced at 68mph. It's not for the easily frustrated though, Chris has seen his fair share of glitches he had to work out. But still, 68mph moped(!)

Cheers,

Josh

Re: Chris Stephens

Re: Chris Stephens

looks like you have to cut alot of the subframe out to make it fit.

Re: Chris Stephens

CDI ignition, the frame needs to be cut up to fit the reed block. I don't know about 68mph, but I'm sure Jeb's does 50+ easy. That pipe is hella loud.

will this kit fit the TFR?

hrm... if I remember right the TFR is a ciao clone no? brand new ped, stomping ass power... could be cool!

Re: will this kit fit the TFR?

Probably. The 'kit' you get is basically a complete motor. You will certainly have to modify the subframe, but yeah.

Cheers,

Josh

Re: will this kit fit the TFR?

yeah I actually went to the simonini website and saw that. what sorta frame mods are required? is it just different brackets and what not or do you actually need to add new tubing?

Re: Vespa Simonini - Thought I'd share

Here's what my friend Jeb has on his Si. It is fast. I've done about 45 or 50mph on it. LOUD. Dangerous. Make sure you're brakes work well. Notice the "Tom Cruisers" logo on the bike.

This shoud show how the frame needs to be cut up to fit the reed block.

Also notice how the pedal shaft had to be extended to clear the carburetor.

Enjoy

Re: Vespa Simonini - Thought I'd share

Re: dude that is too cool

Damn.

My friend's SI is pretty quick with just a 70cc polini, 13.13 carb, and polini "top one" exhaust... I'd love to see this shit in action...
