Dumb question but....

What spark plug does my 1980 Pacer Super Sport take?

I can’t get it to start so I’m going to try a new spark plug and hope Auto Zone has one.

I tested the spark k plug pressed against the head and it sparks but it’s not blue. I sprayed starter fluid into the carb and it doesn’t fire or anything at all.

Clean the points. That should give you a better spark. (edited)

Good for you that you figured it out. Pray tell, how did you figure it out?

Re: Dumb question but....

He’s got it for sale in the B/S forum. His ad says it’s not getting spark. I guess he didn’t figure it out. (edited)

Re: Dumb question but....

Try getting one from an auto parts store and a '70's VW by Bosch if they have one--has nice and easy wiring already for external install. I use a lot of generic ones listed as for '70's Chevrolets, but most anything for pre-1976 car will work.

Re: Dumb question but....

Any single wire condenser with a mounting/grounding strap will work as an external condenser. Use the strap to mount/ground it anywhere on the frame with good conductivity and connect the wire anywhere between the points wire that exits the stator and the ht coil(what the plug wire comes out of).
