82 PA50II electrical questions

Hi. I have a 1982 honda PA50II and after looking at diagrams, it seems that im missing the silicon rectifier. Where does it goes? Im having diffculty finding the exact wiring diagram for my model. Basically im trying to make sense of everything as I took on the project. Does my model as the rectifier? Thanks for the help!

I don’t have a battery, blinkers or CDI. Im on points and no blinkers. Do I have a rectifier stock?

Re: 82 PA50II electrical questions

According to Honda , points are not stock for your stated year and model .

Re: 82 PA50II electrical questions

Stock points system had a rectifier, yeah.

1982 is too late to have come with points stock and would have had a battery and turn signals originally

Really weird, my tag says 1982 and im not missing the battery or the turn signals, they litteraly aren’t any fixations for them. Not for the battery too.

The YC1 of your bikes VIN indicates that it is a Honda Belgium PA50 .

I believe they call it a Camino .

The bike was bought from the honda dealership in Canada(QC) in 1982. Could it be that they sold the European version in canada?

Re: 82 PA50II electrical questions

That's what I'd put my money on .

^ Cool read, thanks for posting that!

Re: 82 PA50II electrical questions

Oh shit, you're in Canada; yeah that's a Camino. They were restricted compared to US models. Is that a one-speed?

Re: 82 PA50II electrical questions

Louis Leblanc /

Yes I think its a one speed, sorry for the delay.

Re: 82 PA50II electrical questions

It doesn't need a rectifier if it doesn't have a battery or turn signals. All you need is an AC voltage regulator to keep from blowing bulbs at higher RPMs. The bulbs on those act as resistors and voltage dividers. Changing the values up without a regulator will result in blown bulbs as well.
