1970 Suzuki F50 Cutlass gearbox fluid

Bradley Morris /

I recently inherited a 1970 Suzuki F50 Cutlass with 1564 original miles on it. This is my first foray into the world of two wheeled motor vehicles, but it’s been stored in a garage since it last ran sometime in the mid-1990’s. With a little bit of tinkering, I and my cousin (who knows more about classic two-stroke engines than myself) were able to get it to start and idle, which gave me the confidence I needed before spending money on getting it back on the road.

With all that being said, the main reason I’m posting here is to ask if anyone knows what viscosity oil and how much the gearbox on these take? I’m having trouble finding information on my own, and the local cycle shop was only helpful in explaining to me how to use Google.

For 10W30 motorcycle oil, get Honda GN4.
