engine replacement or swap?

First time posting here. I just bought what I think is a 1975 Basic with a seized engine. Would it be possible to use a puch, sachs, or a morini engine? The mounting placements look very similar.

Pic of bike?

Never heard of a brand called basic. None in the gallery either.

Thinking you misidentified it, post a picture. (edited)

Re: engine replacement or swap?

Being s you'd have to go through any 'new' motor to insure it's right , why not spend less money and time fixing what you have , no matter the make or model ?

Re: engine replacement or swap?

I think it’s best to fix your engine.

Engines are hard to come by right now and run in the $400-500 range.

Almost easier to just buy a whole different working moped than to buy an E50 and modify the frame you have to receive it.
