neat idea, but no. How do you ensure the scale is right?

You can also take a pic with a coin or ruler and you can scale from there.
You can make a perfect gasket for anything by putting gasket paper over whatever you want to make a gasket for,and tapping the gasket paper over and over with a ball peen hammer. It takes a little time, but it's perfect Everytime, and saves money. It even cuts outs the holes for bolts .You can do this for base gaskets also.
Rick Shaw is trying to help but has no idea what he's talking about here. PO is not working on a 1965 John Deere tractor. This TINY gasket cannot be peen cut . Go back to your barn.
Stop being a cheap fuck OP and just spend the 1.99 for the GASKET
Even if someone could send you a computer program to print the gasket I doubt that you could do such detailed surgical cutting for the gasket to even be of use.
Besides shelling out the 1.99 I suggest you run without the gasket . Most will tell you it wont matter.

Yeah I never realy paid much attention to the condition of that gasket. Usually it is all brown and crusty and I just toss it back on.
He could make one like that is all I am saying.I know it's not needed, and they only cost a couple of bucks.
I like how cheetahchrome just insults the op and people giving suggestions.Classy

He Can't make one like that!
I would really like to see you do a picture tutorial of you peen cutting this tiny gasket using your stone knives and bearskins approach. The final result will be a jagged bloody wad of paper that will be of no use. Stop posting.
He could make one like that.It would be time consuming ,and not jagged if done right. The point is why though? The gasket isn't really needed.I am not going to troll it out with you. (edited)
You may need a vice to hold the carb steady.I would like to know what other way you would cut those tiny holes out.The fact that we are arguing over an sha top gasket is pretty hilarious, and sad at the same time. Most people I have known have ran without one with no problems.
Yea i wouldn't waste my time cutting this gasket even with a proper punch tool. Someone can 3d print it possibly, I dont have a clue what material to use in a 3d printing though. I normally wouldnt 3d print something that thin.
Silicone the top on simple shouldn't take much.
LOL....this thread is funny. All of these methods would cost more in personal time than spending the $1.99
But I wanna play too!!! If you really wanna "cut" a new one, I would lay some plain paper over the carb body. Take a rubbing of it with some chalk or pencil.....whatever. THEN...I would use that as a template and lay it on the gasket material and cut it with an Exacto knife/blade.
I've cut a bunch of my own gaskets. I usually have the old one to use as a template though. You can't even buy a lot of the gaskets required for my '78 Bat. So I cut them all the time.
