1985 General 5 star st

My front sprocket moves left to right about a 1/2 (sach engine ) everything works so I was thinking on removing the sprocket and put a spacer in. Any thoughts ?

Re: 1985 General 5 star st

Don't space it tight. 2 thinner spacers would be better than one. Grease them up!

Re: 1985 General 5 star st

So that should work ? Was thinking maybe nylon ?

Re: 1985 General 5 star st

I'm pretty sure nylon would just shred after awhile.

Re: 1985 General 5 star st

What about a thin spacer on each side with a bearing in the middle ? I could rig that up ? So take off the sprocket put a spacer then bearing then spacer or am I over thinking it ?

sounds like you need to replace your output bearing, or like your front sprocket's taper is shot and you need a new sprocket
