FA50 Throttle cable

Rebuilding an FA50 (have been for a while but just got motivated again)

Need help with the throttle cable in the housing and how it's supposed to be set up.

Added bonus pictures of what I've got so far. I'm into prepping and want this to be like a trail blazer or sorts.

Re: FA50 Throttle cable

The bag reminded me of Indiana Jones.

I have items like a bandana, multitool, map of state/local area. Plan to keep an extra tube or two as well depending how much weight everything is together.

Re: FA50 Throttle cable

The forks will be black like the headlight and front fender (rattle can special to compensate future abuse ;) ) and the strap gets strapped to said forks.

I originally got it by helping someone throw it away and so far I've put 6$ into it (electrical tape for the harness and wires and spray paint.

Still have to redo the carb and order a complete gasket set, piston+rings and a spark plug, new tubes and eventually new tires and brakes and headlight (taillight/brake works fine and she should be good.

Ran for a few miles when I first got it and the spark plug got flooded with oil and the carb constantly leaked gas but it did reach a good 20 going straight and uphill so.

The last two pictures here are before it was running just after being loaded into my car. I DID move that line BEFORE starting 🤣 as well as reattached and replaced the others

That^ is not the correct cable for the throttle .

You need part # 58300-02X00

See the difference .

Re: FA50 Throttle cable

Makes sense. It was a sloppy set up when I first got it. In the pictures above you see the fuel like going into the oil pump xD

I'll add that to the list of parts needed and give my thanks.

Throttle cable, gasket set, piston+rings and 1 tube and she'll be getting around again.

Re: FA50 Throttle cable

One more thing. Would it be possible you could post a close up picture or some form of diagram I haven't been able to find so I can see how it gets routed?

I'd really appreciate it

Re: FA50 Throttle cable

I think after a bit I'm going to delete this thread and make a complete rebuild thread with all the photos I have.

First build/project so I'm pretty proud the way it's going.

Re: FA50 Throttle cable

For sure do but I'm meaning how the actually link part gets routed to the throttle grip.

I know I dont have the right cable but I wasn't sure if I just run it through the gap (didn't seem right to have the cable rubbing against the housing)

Re: FA50 Throttle cable

Get the correct cable and you might just see how it fits .
