Is a stock e50 hi torque base gasket same size as aluminum

roots to wings /

Stock e50 high torque base gasket = stock e50 aluminum base gasket? Cant take cylinder off hi torque top end at the moment.

Re: Is a stock e50 hi torque base gasket same size as aluminum

Overpriced Parts /

They made different sizes per hp size, sometimes they had no head gaskets initially from the factory but after the first service Most service people put a head gasket on,

Try to find the thinnest one like .;2mm but most Like Treats 50cc ones has .4mm size or do what I do, sand head flat, removing the compression rings then use .4mm head gasket for a noticeable power gain

Thank you. My question is about the base gasket (perhaps I have my terminology wrong) in between the cylinder and the bottom end. Trying to order it before I take it off the bike.

Just cut your own . 5 minutes .

5 minutes to cut an aluminum base gasket. Yeah if you own a water jet or plasma cutter.

Most base gaskets are paper of some sort . Most base spacers are made from aluminum and much thicker . They couldn't be mistaken for a gasket .

Thanks for the lesson

All this time I thought PBR came in paper cups.

LOL . It really should as that's about as long as it's good for .

You use PBR cans to make base gaskets ?

PBR = Potentially Bad Repercussions .

And , No lesson intended . Just explaining why my previous answer . ;) (edited)

Re: Is a stock e50 hi torque base gasket same size as aluminum

You shouldn't need an alu base gasket for any stock puch cylinder. The alu ones are made to space up the cylinder to fully clear the exhaust port on performance cylinders with different port timing. As far as I know anyway.

.

I have never bought a base gasket. Always made them out of cereal boxes. Need a little more spacing? Double em up. Never had a problem.

That being said, I have used aluminum base spacers.

Re: Is a stock e50 hi torque base gasket same size as aluminum

OP is talking about the different stock Puch cylinders- High Torque (cast iron) vs Aluminum. He is asking if the paper/fiber base gasket should be the same for both setups. I understand the word aluminum is confusing in this context but he is not talking about making an aluminum base spacer or gasket, nor is he talking about making an aluminum head gasket. Let's use some reading comprehensions skills ffs.

The answer is yes from the factory they are the same size, but as always check your exhaust port piston head clearance at BDC (edited)

No need for any worries about any differences , if you or he cuts your or his own base gaskets , FFS . ;) (edited)
