Strange black wire not hooked up??

I Was cleaning out the Storage compartment on my tomos Streetmate 2011. I pulled up the padding that lines the bottom, And I noticed a black wire not hooked up to anything and I can’t see anywhere in obviously disconnected from.Anybody have a clue? Agian, this is inside the faux tank, at the bottom underneath the layer of padding. Thanks, luck to us all

Bike runs good. I’m not worried about it just very curious

Re: Strange black wire not hooked up??

The early DOHC Hondas had a green wire that was there for no real good reason .

It just hung out right where anyone that took the left side cover off would see it and , of course, have to ask what it was for .

Pretty sure the engineers did that just to keep everyone guessing and maybe give the dealers a chance to make extra money .

Re: Strange black wire not hooked up??

Lots of autos have those tucked away for vanity light packages and such. You have turn signals?

Re: Strange black wire not hooked up??

if your curious take a look at the wiring diagram and report back, im curious too cuz its the cleanest trunk ever.

Re: Strange black wire not hooked up??

Usually for added turn signals. Biles come with different packages from the factory but the woring will be the same. Many bikes have that extra wire near the horn which is for the blinkers.

Secondary keyed DC source. It comes from the back of the keyed cylinder in the trunk.

Yes, the bike does have turn signals

So would you say it is there for a trunk light/buzzer? I am guessing this moped doesn't have a battery. So the light/buzzer would probably only go on while the moped is running.

I did start to think something like that too. Also, The bike does have a battery

Maybe it's for a compartment light . Think night use along the road when you break down . ;)
