1977 Jawa

Hello, I’m currently missing a part of my setup and or not quite seeing it the right way. Was parked in 1987 with the Thyristor and the black box unplugged. Was thinking of replacing with a link a helpful dent on Facebook or the one on treats but they price match. Could I have some help! What am I missing for spark? Besides the piece from treats I don’t see any yellow wire like the pictures, she turns over runs fine all together besides needing a good clean and tune up. I’m ADHD so pictures help a LOT if anyone has any please comment :)

Re: 1977 Jawa

Looks like the blue wire might be “ yellow” on the diagrams

Re: 1977 Jawa

If you click that link and make sure yours is all set up just like that read that whole thing down at the bottom it gives some diagrams it also gives you how many OHMs to test for with a volt meter

You should be good to check for spark once everything is set up like in that write up

Re: 1977 Jawa

The second picture you posted shows your alternator. As opposed to a cars alternator, the one pictured is a silver metallic magnetic piece. Under the alternator is the charging coils. You don't have the yellow wire because that is the new style. You can upgrade to the new style but you probably don't need to.

Re: 1977 Jawa

This is the piece that would go around your alternator from the second pic and the charging coils would be screwed onto it if you truly wanted to update
