I'm about to purchase a 1980 Sebring. It turns over and has compression, but has no spark. Before I purchase I want to make sure I can either repair the potential problem or be able to find the potential part (pretty much hoping I can find that part on treatland. Anyone have any information to share? Also, I'm expecting to rebuild or replace the carb. I've seen videos that had Sebrings with SHA carbs. Does the 1980 use the SHA too? (edited)
I don't want to be negative, but I will say GOOD LUCK, and that mopeds are more than just one problem. They require an extreme amount of time, sacfirice and commitment to get them to move. That's my experience with french mopeds.

Best moped parts store. Up in Norcal, see if they have the parts you want.
^ Sebring's are not as obnoxious as say a 50v, I would grab it, they are nice bikes.
You'll figure it out. Clean the points, check the kill switch, possibly replace the condenser.
Don't buy a rust bucket. Your already gonna need new tires, engine seals, possibly brake pads even on a good looking bike

GET IT - no spark is often a easy solve because it has the blue wire scheme for the US market. The exciter coil for the ignition also powers the tail light, ground that wire and hardwire the tail light and the headlight for all the time lights. Also a tuneup and you are on the road...

Easy to work on the Morini or Minarelli engines. Yours should be a Morini.
From what I can tell it's a Morini M1.

So the intake is mounted to the case and not the cylinder? Does the starter clutch lever operate a lever on top of the right side engine cover?

yes, it's a case reed valve engine. And the clutch lever thing, I don't know.
what does the Sebring use as a CDI?
That's the single speed, M1 ………..great engine! Kit it with 60 cc and put a pipe on it.
