I have a Batavus HS-50 that I might need help with. I will no for sure in a week or so. I have ordered a replacement carb float bowl gasket because it leaks big time. It has spark so once I put the carb back on, if I do not get it started, then I will likely need help. I also have a Puch Maxi Sport.

While you have the carb off and apart , polish the float valve seat with Brasso or tooth paste and q tips .
That seat and the needle tip have to be pristine .
Also check that all passages are clear .

I doubt the float bowl gasket is the problem. Either your float, needle or seat has issues.

Thank you..Is there a recommended way to soak the carb to remove any deposits?

I used carb cleaner when I disassembled it and cleaned it

You could mix up a 2.1 solution of original solution of PinSol to water and soak the carb in that for a few hours . break the carb down to individual parts completely and do not soak any steel or rubber type parts . Rinse thoroughly with hot water .
And I repeat :
While you have the carb off and apart , polish the float valve seat with
