I installed a new carb in my hobbit, turned on the fuel and it starts spitting fuel from the circled orifice
I'm kinda new to this stuff; I've never seen this happen and have no idea why it is. Any suggestions?
That's an overflow outlet .
The float valve is stuck open . Try whacking the bowl with a screwdriver handle . Hit with authority .
If that doesn't do it , you'll have to pull the carb . Remove the bowl and manually move the float and needle . While in there , pull the float and needle , inspect for any tip flaws and polish the needle seat with q tips and brasso or toothpaste . Clean it well and reassemble .
Thanks - after pulling the carb and inspecting everything it looks like 1) the float spring was a little bent and 2) I previously installed the float bowl backwards. Doh. No more overflowing now, though. (edited)
