shortening puch throttle cable

bought that. back brake was too long. nbd. cut it and added a new screw knarp thingy

throttle cable is also about 6-8inches too long. it looks dumb. either it's coming off the handle bars or sticking off the side.

It's a maxi throttle (this kind https://www.treatland.tv/NOS-magura-grey-FULL-CONTROL-SET-early-puch-maxi-p/magura-grey-full-control-set-1.htm)with a ball to secure it to the throttle and a bing carb - slightly smaller ball to hook up to the slide. which side should I shorten then how to i add another/old ball onto the cable?

Re: shortening puch throttle cable

Don't cut the slide side. Cut the throttle side. Put a knarp on it.

1)where do I get the right knarp

2)how to i attach said knarp from question#1

Re: shortening puch throttle cable

Treats has mini knarps, but are you saying you need a ball end for the lever?

If so, You can modify your lever by carefully drilling the round ball end hole bigger (if there's enough metal around it) to fit a mini knarp. Did that to a vintage throttle and it worked fine.

If you have a mig welder, you can shorten the carb end. Just cut the cable, clean it real good, and zap it right on the tip of the cable. Makes a perfect ball.

prefer the lever/throttle end as getting the ball thru the tube on the top of the carb can be a little tricky
