Okay, I give. How do I get this green seal out? I've tried heat, prodding, picking....
Also, would I be wise to replace this clutch spring?
Thanks in advance!
bend a screwdriver to hook the lip and pry, its leverage, dont forget a small block of wood so you dont knick the case.
id change spring too
Thanks for the rapid response. Regrettably, the lip just snapped off so there is no longer a point of leverage. Can I use a chemical to dissolve it?
the seal is the lip, just dont hit mar the sealing surface, or a deep socket from the other side.

No chemicals .
Drill a hole in the seal shell . Insert a screw and pop it out .

Yup
A) Just womp the seal out, you have empty cases. Grab a socket that fits the OD of the seal and pop it out.
B) those springs look messed with, best replace them.
