Speedo drive repair

Working on my hobbit wheels. New tires/tubes. Repacking bearings.

One thing I'm not sure about is how to best handle the speedo drive... Should it be "repacked" or anything of the sort?

Thank you

Of course . Clean it as best you can and freshen with new grease .

Old grease can become almost as hard as cold wax .

Ok, I'm sure I will be able to clean it out pretty easily, but not so sure how easily it will be to get grease in there. Any recommendations?

Re: Speedo drive repair

Warmed/heated grease runs fairly easily . Once in place and cooled , it solidifies .

Maybe use an old metal cup . ;) (edited)
