my 78 pa50 has no spark, i have tested as much as i can tell, and found what appears to be the one rectifier leg not having any output. have output to lighting side, but using an led test light, nothing to ignition side. should this not have power out until the points signal for spark? or am i thinking backwards? if it is the rectifier, has anyone ever added a battery and used a two wire, instead of the 3 wire? it seems as if it would possibly start easier if it had voltage at lower rpm.
