49cc automatic moped Stuck in low gear

So all the sudden I was riding down the road and it started to read really high and rumble when it got up to 17 miles an hour. I decided to take it apart and found that the clutch had a piece of metal jammed in it and when I knocked it free it was in there loosely. I attached the pictures and videos and I am asking anyone for any help on what I should do and if I should just try and take it apart and put it back together or if any parts need to be replaced.

What ever it is , it isn't going to fix itself .

Tear it apart and see what's broken .

It might help to know what it is. If it's a scooter you might try a site like 49ccscooters.

I appreciate the responses. I’ll check that site out, thank you. It’s a Cruze motor I think on a 2017 Agility .

We know .

Re: 49cc automatic moped Stuck in low gear

Circlip popped off, could also be the clutch shoe or post broke.

Exactly, clutch arm is broken or damaged a d locking the rear cheek from opening.

Repair/replace

Re: 49cc automatic moped Stuck in low gear

Worn out weights will case it also.

Actually, in the photo you can also see that there is a clutch spring missing from the clutch.

Take apart the rear variator/clutch and you'll find the loose, jammed parts fast enough

Re: 49cc automatic moped Stuck in low gear

i cant see the missing spring but didnt watch the vid either.

the angle of that arm i'm strongly suspecting the arm where it goes around the post is cracked. the "piece of metal" was probably the other short chunk of the arm and that could definitely slack and drop the spring off too

Re: 49cc automatic moped Stuck in low gear

Looks like the post that holds the clutch shoe is broke, you can pick up one of those clutches up for 25$
