Vespa Grande Pedal Shaft Woes

During the replacing of the motor on my Vespa Grande I discovered that the pedal shaft is totally screwed up on the sprocket end. Was looking around the web for another one but I’m not having much luck in finding a exact length replacement. Looks like the chaio ones are the right amount of teeth (28) but the lengths are not quite right. The approximate measurements are;

16mm od, 235mm total length, 38mm short side, 187mm long side. Was wondering if any other brand pedal shafts are compatible on a grande.

Re: Vespa Grande Pedal Shaft Woes

Try buy & Sell section Greg, I've seen lots of Vespa Parts there. Or, if your up to it have it welded up , grind and file, good luck either way.

Re: Vespa Grande Pedal Shaft Woes

I think I’ll weld it up and re-machine it, can’t hurt it right?

You'll be on the road quicker . ;)

Re: Vespa Grande Pedal Shaft Woes

Worth a try, I used to weld up rail and grind it down.

Re: Vespa Grande Pedal Shaft Woes

I have an extra, can sell it to you for $10

Dirty30 Dillon /

Tooth count is like meh, really. I have swapped shafts between a bunch of vespa and honestly just shimming it out has always yielded a very usable result
