Meh
Needs carb work might be code for needs lots more
Titled if your state needs it? Is it complete, you really have to go look, check inside of tank for rust. If all there and has any needed paperwork offer 250-275ish. Look out for missing parts, hacked wiring, missing/rigged up switch's, any bicycle parts grafted on, no id plate, no paperwork, spray bombed black, vauge backstory. On the other hand, many people make the mistake of leaving the petcock on all winter or for a yr or two without draining the tank and running the carb dry, causing it to varnish up. You really have to go take a look. (edited)
With those miles on w a title. Yes all day the rims and frame are almost that
I’m going to call him and find out about the title / paperwork, with a vin number and bill of sale I can get the necessary paperwork.Theres only one picture but no matter how much you zoom in the bike looks great with no visible damage or missing parts.
Those low miles can simply mean his speedo drive became inoperable.
Wait, why is this the repair forum? (edited)
Because it needs repaired ppl

And so will anyone else thats seen this thread. (edited)
"zooming in on your phone" is NOT going to look at the bike.
Is that the blue bike that says "CAK" - Homeworth" ? That ad might not be legit. Another MA member posted that the seller used a picture of his bike and the seller doesn't respond to communications. Just be careful.
Yes. That was mine Trent. It's the pic of my moped on the work station with my Conrail sign on the wall. The guy then reposted word for word with a different Tomos, later that week. Be wary, be careful.
Be wary, wary careful.
We're hunting hobbits
I think I’ll pass we’ve got our hands full rebuilding a Sachs Balboa , our first rebuild.
I would buy it however if legit. Thanks
Did you get a pic of it?
Is the pic on Craig list the one actually for sale? I thought someone posted that it wasn’t .Does any know if it has title or bill of sale ? Thanks again
I looked at Akron canton CL didn't see it. But for what it's worth Tim, as others have stated, carb needs work could really drag out to a lot of work. Especially on a Tomos 3a on account you need to drop the engine down to work on it. Not hard work ,but time consuming. In Ohio all you need is a bill of sale for Registration. And make sure you get one! Trust me. I got mine for 300.00 in good running condition plus the turn signals worked. And the owner dropped it off. Good luck.
Thanks Les,I think it’s worth it’s only 20 miles.Your right about “just a carb” .we just picked up a Balboa ,real nice shape, all parts were there.so far we’ve added piston, stator magneto ,carb rebuild ,needs rewired, couple cables and we still don’t have it running but we’re still waiting on some parts. It’s a Grandson project and my first experience with a moped ,I finally took the motor off after crawling around on the cement floor. Were having quite a bit of fun though
Fun ... That's what it's all about . ;)
Yes , Damn the torpedos full steam ahead!
