So I am rebuilding my 78 Moby engine and I have a crazy idea to put the Gurtner back on to see if I can get it to work.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Why ask ?
Try it and you'll be able to give a review .
I like suggestions, especially from those that know far more about these than I.
Best way to know is to do .
I've only had gurtners, never any real issuse, set float height carefully or will leak, new gaskets o rings a good idea.
Good luck ! I spent hours and hours to get a gurtner to work, after riding it around the block I put the delorto back on . Myrons Moped everything you need to know about Gurtner Carbs. If you need any parts let me know I might be able to help. I have a box of gurtner carbs! I think my opinion the newer the carb. the better. I sold a 1980 Moby 2 years ago to a friend with a stock Gurtner starts easy runs great!
Advise for float adjustment?
When I got my 50V I had visions of it being an all-stock survivor.
After watching the guru himself want to throw a Gurtner through a window, I bought a SHA.
