See pic. These connect the Dellorto 14.12 carbs to the air box on the Tomos peds where you have to pivot the engine down to remove the carb. Even new they are stiff and hard to fit. After a few months they get stiffer and fit even worse. Heating with a hairdryer gives them some flex but I'm hoping to find a more flexible version that actually works well. I like to use the air box as it quiets the motor and without it I'd suspect a leaner mix coming in the carb.
I bought a replacement for my first moped. I'd buy the side mount intake next time.
Yeah the side shot intake is the way to go because every time you need to adjust the carb you got to drop the engine or do some tomasi yoga
just get it hotter and itll be super pliable for a minute.
I've heard of people boiling hard rubber parts in a mix of water and wintergreen oil for a few minutes but haven't tried it myself.
Thanks to all. Heat helped but once the part cooled it shrank and pulled off at the bottom. Even when this part was a new replacement it was a difficult to fit. I read about the hot water + wintergreen solution but think the heat part is its basis. Had an old Yamaha mc with a similar issue and heat put the air tube back securely. If the opening where the available boots meet the carb we're 2 mm wider it would be fine. A side draft is a way out but throws expense in if I want to keep an airbox with it.

I have gone as far as taking as much as needed out of the hardened tube to have it fit wholly . It is still doing fine after a couple years . ;)
PD, How did you make the modification, Dremel tool, sand paper?

I used an. exacto knife . It wasn't as smooth as the OEM , but , it didn't have to be , as the 'stop' , where the carb lip 'bottoms' inside the connection , did the sealing .
I would think that a sanding drum would do just as well .

Well I'll tell you what you do is your find a white Pharmacy bottle for the fish oil tabs lower-level Lavazza and you can cut one of those plastic bottles and it will fit right onto the delordo thing with the metal filter still inside of it and you can run 10 millimeter intake tube into the frame like a bad of us and if you adjust the length of the tube you'll get different performance bands
I like the idea, will take a caliper to the store and find a bottle that works.
