Stripped Puch Intake stud

Angry Hipster /

So it looks like I've stripped my intake stud on my stock aluseries cylinder. To make matters worse, it looks like after doing some research that the stud is cast in the cylinder and non removable.

Is the only option to cut off the stud and drill and tap? Thanks

Yep. Center punch the stud after you cut it flush, then make a pilot hole. Then drill out for an m6 helicoil. Try not to gouge up the mating surface of the intake port

Thanks for the advice. I just ordered a knock off dremel tool, a spring loaded punch, and an m6 helicoil kit, and a new gasket kit.

The cylinder probably isn't worth all that but I'll get some cool tools to keep.
