The resistor is located either in the tail light housing or it is inside of the headlight in the wiring block it's used the lower the wattage for the running light the other rectifier is usually nonexistent on a 6 volt system what it does is the sax has such a low output the stock bulbs for the tail were 5 Watt + 3 and the headlight was only 18w.

If it had an aftermarket battery and turnsignals the battery functions as both.
