Hello, my 1978 puch maxi leaking oil from the side I believe. Not from the drain bolt! Wondering if my gaskets are shot or?
Thanks!!! (edited)
just clean it up real good and go for a spin
pressure wash that thing.
That thing is so wet you can't even tell where it's coming from!
That said, it may be your clutch cover that's leaking because the gasket is original.
Looks like it's leaking from just aboot everywhere.
How much ATF did you put in it? There is a case vent on top of the case just above where that leak is coming down between the frame and the cases... did you just totally overfill it and now it's venting out when it gets hot?
I filled it but not till the point where it was oozing out the fill hole! Should I just wait and keep riding it and just see if it might be too full? I’ll check on it to make sure it doesn’t get too low tho!
It was filled up to the lip of the fill hole!
You need new seals.
What ones would I need?
It's not that bad,
Thank you mike!!!!
I believe this bike has a 70cc kit and I’m not too sure if it has a super stuffy crank! Should I get one since the case will be opened up?!
You should remove the cylinder and piston and see if you have a needle bearing in the small end of the conrod, or if you want just open up the cases and see what crank you have. If it's stock I always upgrade if I'm putting on new bearings and seals anyway
Thank you all for the info!! Just picked this bike up and I’m trying to figure out what they did to it
Hi, did it help to rebulid with new crank.
I have 2 engines e50 1 speed.
Both rebuild, but with original stock crank.
After 30 km Riding they both started leaking oil from air vent hole.
I have correct oil level.
Airsal 3,5 hp cylinder-set.
You think that rebulid with new racing grade crank and seals could help??
5.7 ounces of ATF is the spec for e50.
