How do I change all the oil lines on 2005 tomos lx

I was wondering how to change the oil lines because they are just old, I need to know how to put the clamps on and basically everything that any of you can help with.

To do so properly, you should use ear-crimp hose clamps and fresh hose. You need to bleed the system by manually cycling the pump off the motor.

I haven't messed with a Tomos oil pump that wasn't the newer electric ones, but take the pump off, chuck the end up in a drill and spin it gradually

Could I just pull all the lines of and replace them instead of doing all these things

Yes replace the lines but run pre-mix in the tank until pump primes all the lines full of oil,

I do dislike oil pump Tomos but I got one low mi bike with 147 miles on it awhile back for a good price so I replaced the lines,

It took quite a long time of riding before the oil was for in the lines and going into the inlet nipple,

I started out with about 1 quart of gas to oil 50 to 1 ratio in the tank and it took quite a while maybe like 5-6 miles to see oil going to nipple, well that’s when I stopped to look,

I Put cover back on then put straight gas in it and ran it with Polaris synthetic injector oil in oil tank,

Though I don’t use the bike a lot not to keep the mileage low at 1100 miles now but injector still works fine and I’m running straight gas,

You can do whatever you want.

Running the tank with pre-mix while the pump primes is a great way to potentially burn out your un-primed pump.

It's simple maintenance stuff.

Your manual. Last page talks about oil pump. I don't have this particular model but this discusses line bleeding. Buy new hose and just replace one at a time so you get them in the right place.

Dillon can you say a little more about the newer tomos electric oil pump. Where is the pump located. Is it reliable vs the older type if

Maintained ? Any conversions from mechanical to electric ..etc

Re: How do I change all the oil lines on 2005 tomos lx

Where can I buy the lines for the oil pump and what is the size

Re: How do I change all the oil lines on 2005 tomos lx

If I replace the oil lines how many feet do you think I would need ? I was thinking like 7/8 feet
