Hydrolocked moped?

Several days ago there was a $200 Tomos listed on FB Marketplace. The seller had cleaned the tank and got water into the carb and intake, claiming that the engine was now either hydrolocked or frozen.

Is that a possible thing with a two stroke? Wouldn't that be an easy fix? It's no longer listed. Just curious.

Re: Hydrolocked moped?

My float broke on the ns50 and overflowed into the engine, causing it to fill with gasoline, when I went to kick it over it was stuck so I bump started it in 3rd. It started up down the hill after a couple skids, but when it did it blew the clutch side crank seal out.

Re: Hydrolocked moped?

Moped Lar (OFMC) /

Most likely seized, not hydrolocked.

Re: Hydrolocked moped?

Most likely seized, not hydrolocked, easy to tell, remove the head nuts and lift the cylinder and see if you get a big puddle of fluid or you get a cylinder with a piston severely stuck inside...

Just couldn't help but laugh about the skidding the tire and it starting up blowing the seal......…...LOL!

Re: Hydrolocked moped?

Id call him and have him remove the spark plug and try to kick it over.Unless your willing to buy it either way then just go get it!

Re: Hydrolocked moped?

I'd didn't stay listed very long. I just found it odd that the guy didn't take 5 minutes to take off the plug.
