I had this in my junk pile for sometime and I just had to see inside. The least I wanted to do was salvage the connectors and make a new one as per the wiki.
Most antique radios quit working because of the capacitors failing. Just wondering if digging out the capacitor leads and adding an external capacitor would make it work. I'll order up some components and see.
Looks like if you cut at 1 1/4" you would have easier access to the leads instead of pushing your luck on a trip to the emergency room by using a utility knife.
This is most likely a waste of time but I'll end up with a spare anyhow.
