Guess This Part- 5 Bucks

Polly Prissypants /

I will PayPal 5 bucks to the first person who can correctly identify this part. It comes from a 1964 Honda CA102 Super Cub.

It came from the motor, hand controls or starter.

That’s a nose plug, so you don’t have to smell the exhaust.

Re: Guess This Part- 5 Bucks

Looks like a spring minus the brush for starter motor(edited)

Re: Guess This Part- 5 Bucks

Clearly, it's a handlebar mustache.

Re: Guess This Part- 5 Bucks

Dude, it's a ruler.

Wonder if those "ride" better than an average mustache?

While I am beginning to love wearing it, I think it has a different original purpose.

Both of my brush springs are accounted for. So still searching.

I never cared for jewelry .

Maybe it fits inside the carb slide to hold the needle in place ?

Haha I wondered....

Forgot where it goes?

Re: Guess This Part- 5 Bucks

It's a #%YBFHFGEDd and a really rare one at that.

Re: Guess This Part- 5 Bucks

To add friction to the throttle twist, so it doesnt return. For cruise control.

Re: Guess This Part- 5 Bucks

Actually looks like its for a Honda C70 but whatever.

Interesting thought. I have a couple c70s and haven’t run across this part before?

Okay I reread it so the frame is out after that I would say it holds a ball bearing in the spring to make a switch go click

I think we’re very close. I found this piece at the bottom of some degreaser that most recently was used for a hand control soak. But the parts listing for the hand controls doesn’t note it.

Re: Guess This Part- 5 Bucks

Honestly, its not for a Honda.

Re: Guess This Part- 5 Bucks

Looks to be for a sliding door or window sach. If I had to guess, that spring bounced its way into one project from another project.

Somebody could have jammed it in there instead of that V shape wedge that holds your controls in place it goes in between the outer perch and the bar to stop it from spinning we should be playing this more like liars Club we should start a thread and off topic I just put up some weird part and let everybody guess is this is kind of fun

Re: Guess This Part- 5 Bucks

What does it taste like?

Was it greasy or sticky?

I had an old Italian throttle that had a part exactly like that. Used a set screw to push it against the throttle to adjust tension. Might have been a tomaselli superpratic B throttle, I don't remember.

Re: Guess This Part- 5 Bucks

Adrian said it first, baird seconds it. I recognized it from the thumbnail, it goes in the throttle. there's a slot that it fits in inside the switch assembly, the curved ends face the bar. It's called the Adjuster Grip and part number is 53163001000
