I have a 1984 Silver Bullet that I’m having an issue with. I recently installed a 70cc Airsal kit with high-compression head and a 15mm Dellorto. It ran great for a day or so then started sputtering under acceleration. It’s like it cuts out then back on. I was running a 75 jet then went to a 73 and it’s the same. I seem to be getting food flow from the petcock and the filter under the fuel inlet is clean. I put a video on YouTube to illustrate. Any ideas? Thanks
sounds like a loose wire, condenser maybe.
Intake is loose sometimes it wobbles sometimes you just flooding it out and you just need a hotter plug what are you running I would suggest you check if it requires a resistor plug or not or if it has a resistor boot also get a non foul racing plug and you'll know right away if it's flooding cuz it won't
Hey did you ever figure out what it was? Mine just started doing pretty much the same thing. After reading up I was thinking possibly a condenser but since I saw your video and it was so similar I figured I'd ask to see if you were able to solve it before I start buying parts.
A condensers easy man you just go get a 399 gm1 or even a capacitor all it does is take the overcharge you put it in your circuit it will work but usually a failed condenser wouldn't make it sputter it would make it quit cool down and then I would work again sometimes if it's an old points model the blue wire that goes under the points gets pinched and will exhibit the same result it would sputter it could be the central post insulator on the points it could be a lot of things but the best thing to do is to start with the very simple as stupid as shit the kill switch make sure that shit ain't vibrating and giving you a are alternate kill
It was ignition, but I didn’t troubleshoot but rather swapped the points for a Treats CDI kit. Crazy rips now!
Bet it was the condenser, while I was changing a condenser on my maxi yesterday and mounting it externally, for giggles I saw if the bike started without the condenser... It ran very similar to how that sounded to my ears.
