My mopeds running really rich, it smokes like hell, and it bogs down, then when i shut off the fuel tap it revs a bit better, is there any way to adjust the carburetor? Thanks.

What carb do you have?

SHA14:12 - only the main jet really to worry about, take off the fuel bowl and look at the number stamped onto the jet, should be in the mid 50s for a stock bike.

Try around a 53. Most stock bikes has a 51-53 in them.

Spark plug might need replaced too.
Maybe consider purchasing a range of jets, so you can dial it in.
Do you have any kind of fuel leaks anywhere?
your float needle isnt stopping fuel from entering carb, flooding engine. clean needle , needle seat n carb,

I was getting there.
When you are absolutely sure float is not flooding carb, proceed take to top speed and see of it 4 strokes. Increase main jet size until it four strokes on top end, then go back down one jet size.
Low end and idle will most likely be a little rich on a/f at this point. You will need to tune low end and idle with something other than original slide within carb. A complete selection of slides were once available for just this reason. Notice as they progress in design that they are letting in more air and or reducing lift of fuel from float bowl @ idle, lowend, midrange. Better learn yer slides.
Should i say that the thing was running fine before? The seat looks clean and fine, and the throat of the carb is dry, and theres no leaks. I will try to clean it again, but if that doesnt work ill order a 5 pack from 50 to 55 or something like that, it is wierd that it was working right originally though, but theres definitely no problem with the seat, but ill check again.
The seat is sealing perfectly, it is probably just the jets, i think it was origionally clogged when i ran it for the first time in 20 years cause some of the residue that came from the rusted tank probably clogged part of it, the filter is a bit dirty, so i wouldnt be suprised that it was making it leaner, cause when i wanted to check what number it was, it was a bit clogged, but i cleared it up.
I think the 4 stroking is also audio visible too, it sounds like a worn out trabant.
Will a kit with 50 52 but then 55 be ok? I cant find any seperate 53s or any 50s to 55 or something like that, if theres is some website can you send it to me? Thanks.

Get main jet dialed in and go from there.
Yeah i will, the slide looks like it WASNT supposte to be rich, but most likely it was set up for a bigger engine.
