anyone taken apart a qt50 speedo/cluster?

Rob LaFreniere /

There is some skudge underneath the lens that I can't reach even after removing the gauge from behind and getting access to the face with a piece of flat plastic. I was wondering if its not too difficult to separate the halves without breaking anything.

thanks,

Rob

I've taken the front clear plastic off all my QTs to clean dead spiders and old dust covering the numbers. Just slowly go around the edge of the lens where it contacts the sides of the housing with a small flat edged screwdriver. Work it slowly all the way around so you don't crack the lens. Patience is the key. When re-assembling it put a little clear silicone on the corners to hold it down. Yea we got lots of spiders-- the Adirondack Barking Spiders are the worst.
