McCULLOCH BHE 900 Carb spitting gas, need help

Edward Corcoran /

Put new fuel lines in (all gone when I bought it) but when I start it up there is gas shooting out of a nozzle on the back of the carb. Look at picture, right side. I'm guessing another line goes here but what does it connect to? I tried capping it but then it won't start so I'm guessing it has to connect to something?

Not completely certain as I sold my Rodmasters a year ago, but I think that should be where the fuel line connects in and the other side is the overflow/vent line.

Thanks so much! I must have it hooked up backwards. Will try and switch the line to other side tonight.
