Vespa Ciao - Removing old center stand / kickstand

Morten Schubert /

Hi everyone

I'm taking apart my old Vespa Ciao, as it needs a lot of new parts and rust removal.

This is my first time taking my Ciao into pieces and as such I've used YouTube, Moped Army etc. a lot for guides.

However, I'm currently having trouble with removing something as simple as my center stand / kickstand. I've looked at the guide on here for the Bravo and Grande , but my center stand seems to be mounted a bit differently.

As far as I can see, my center stand is not mounted with C-clips (at least not anymore...). It just seems like the pin going through the spring coils has an edge on either side. I can move it slightly, so it isn't rusted solid, but I can't seem to pull it out get it out on either side of the center stand. I've also removed the pins from the spring, so it's not the springload which is holding it in place.

Any suggestions? Especially videos will be appreciated.

Cheers!

looks like someone peened the edges of a hollow pin. grind one side and slide out.

Cheers, I used my angle grinder to remove one end and it slid ride out.

Thanks!
