Seized M48 Laura

Allen van der Hoek /

The other day I rode my 1980 Starflite into town (~18 miles), made two short stops and turned homeward. I made it about halfway home (~10 miles out of town,~ 30 total miles that day) and the engine suddenly shut off. No stuttering or struggling, just gone.

The engine has since not been movable, so I'm fairly certain it's seized.

Does anyone have a spare, working M48 lying around? Or advice on fixing my seized one?

Pull the head and cylinder off to see what the damage is!

just when u think it running great it seizes. i vote for taking yours apart and rebuilding cuz anything u get is better off with a rebuild anyways.
