If you want to ground your lights to the frame you can only use a half wave rectifier.
That means you only get half the voltage. No bueno. The best way is to isolate the DC system like I've shown.
Here is example of the half wave. As far as I know, you can only use full wave if you have an independent ground, like shown in my diagram with the "floated DC".
I will post a full wave rectifier diagram here later.
