Broken turn signal...physcially broke - can you weld this?

HI all!

I am new to the forum. There seems to be many good people and info here.

I recently purchased an 82 NU50 Urban Express. It is in great, clean condition with 4400 on the clock. I got it to teach my daughters to ride.

Well, on the first trip, my oldest dropped the bike while turning on grass. Yea, that is common, but what happened is the weld for the turn signal broke.

Can this be rewelded?

Thanks and happy motoring!

Welded , IDK , but , with imagination and a bit of trickery it could be made functional again . ;)

Brad William /

If you're determined to fix vs replace it tap a 10-24 thread in it where it meets the stalk, see if you can run a length of 10-24 all-thread (home depot) through the stalk and tighten down a nut in the other side.

If you know a welder that won't charge you a 40 dollar minimum you might bring it to them but that looks mire like a shitty braze job of chromed tube to zinc pot metal.

1/4 - 20 all thread rod , a couple nuts and washers will do and afford room for the wire . ;)
