E50 Clutch Cover Lever

Hawthorne Swan-Scott /

So in my attempt to rebuild a 1977 Puch Newport which at the time of getting had it's engine removed and wires cut. For the most part its all the way put back together, I have reconnected all the wires and and attach the engine to the frame once again and rebuild the carb. The Last part is the Clutch Cover Lever seems to have come out I guess?

Does anyone know how I can put this back together, if I can just it is back in the hole ? (Ha Ha) Do I have to have the cover off the clutch to put back together? Any help would help thanks

Re: E50 Clutch Cover Lever

S'posed to have a circlip holding it in. Yours fell off and is loose somewhere in your transmission tearing shit up.

What do you mean? There should be a clip holding the Clutch Cover Lever to the engine or in place in the hole that it goes down

Re: E50 Clutch Cover Lever

There is a circlip that is supposed to hold the shaft inside the clutch cover. It snaps into the groove, just above the flat part, to keep it from sliding out of the hole. Yours fell off inside somehow, if the shaft came out of the hole.

Should I take off the clutch cover to try and look for the missing/broken circlipf it is in there?? In the meantime I will look into getting a new circllip, thank you for the help!

Re: E50 Clutch Cover Lever

Yeah, pull the cover, and find that sucker, because it can cause a lot of damage to gears, clutch, and bearings. Or worse. Hope you find it!
