Identifying potential kill switch

I’m hoping to find help identifying the part in my hand and help with how it should be positioned and wired. This is a new bike to me, a “Gloria Intramotor Verona” (according to the badge) I believe a 77. I just bought it from a neighbor and it’s close to starting. As I’m working on it I’m trying to make sure the wiring I inherited is correct and not keeping it from running. It’s definitely been modified.

Re: Identifying potential kill switch

That's your condenser. It's a capacitor, normal part of points ignition.

Looks like someone replaced the original with an external one...the original is probably on the stator under the flywheel. It's ok to leave it in there...not sure if that's wired right tho.. (edited)

look up wiring diagram in wiki

Re: Identifying potential kill switch

Verona means it has the gyromat engine. It's basically a morini mo1 with a slightly smaller bore....the bike would either be a blanco or a scout..

Re: Identifying potential kill switch

Thanks, that makes sense why there’s been a new wire running out of the stator area to it. It is currently loose and so is def missing it’s ground connection. Probably one of my issues.

Re: Identifying potential kill switch

Cool, yeah it’s a scout then

Re: Identifying potential kill switch

Although it is possible that you could have a wiring problem, you might want to buy an inline spark tester. They cost less than 5 dollars and its a lot simpler than grounding a sparkplug. I misdiagnosed a lot of my mopeds problems as electrical issues until I bought the tester.

Re: Identifying potential kill switch

Kill switch should be on the bars.
